Oil prices fell by about two percent today, reducing their weekly gains, against the backdrop of fears that the global recovery will falter due to the return of the rate of Corona virus infections to the increase.
Reuters reported that Brent crude was settled down to 69 cents, equivalent to 1.5 percent, to $ 44.40 a barrel.
The US West Texas Intermediate crude fell 73 cents, or 1.7 percent, to reach $ 41.22.
On a weekly basis, Brent rose 2.5 percent, while West Texas Intermediate gained 2.4 percent.
