With the approach of Qixi, Chinese Valentine's Day which falls this year on August 25, the French jeweler has published a romantic video in honor of his famous " Trinity " ring . The film shows a man and a woman holding hands, but also two women lying side by side, and two men riding bicycles.
Many Internet users have seen in these latest images a staging of homosexual couples. But the legend published by Cartier on the online sales site Tmall offers a completely different interpretation. Under the image of the two men appears the words " a father and his son, linked by love, who go through life ".
On social networks, the comments did not fail to deride Cartier, believing that the jeweler had given in to a reflex of modesty in a country where homosexuality is not exposed in the media.
