ANSeS credits: the collection of installments is resumed, exempting interest from payment since January

Until this month the collection of fees is suspended. But as soon as a bill is passed, payments of those fees resume. Of course, the interests that governed from January 2020 until the sanction of the law are forgiven. This relief includes 3.6 million retirees, pensioners and beneficiaries of AUH.

While due to the pandemic until this month of August, the collection of loans granted by the FGS (Sustainability Guarantee Fund) of the ANSeS to retirees, pensioners and beneficiaries of the AUH and Family Allowances is suspended . The government sent a bill to Congress last week that establishes that payments be resumed but that the interest earned on these loans is not capitalized from January 1 this year until the bill is sanctioned.

This represents a relief of about $ 47,000 for 1.8 million retirees and 1.8 million AUH beneficiaries. If this criterion is approved, the collection of the fees owed will resume under the conditions originally agreed. Thus, in September, the value of the fee will be similar to that of December 2019.

According to the ANSeS records, 84.6% of the holders of the AUH --- 1,867,832 people out of a universe of 2,208,323 --- have one or more loans with the agency. And 31.63% of retirees and pensioners - 1,820,3758 out of a total universe of 5,755,402 - have loans from the pension agency. In total, the loans total about 200,000 million pesos.

As Clarín reported , for the loans granted during 2020 a reduction in the quota-income ratio was established to 20% of the monthly income. And the interest rate was reduced from 42% to 31.5% in the case of retirees and pensioners, and from 48% to 36% for AUH beneficiaries. They are loans ranging from $ 5,000 to $ 200,000 payable in 24, 36, 48 or 60 installments. Then the collection of fees was suspended.

At the beginning of July, through Resolution 2/2020, the FGS once again suspended the payment of the installments of the loans in force for the months of July and August of the Program "CREDITS ANSES", "period during which the beneficiaries reached by this measure they will not be able to request the granting of new credits of the ANSES CREDITS Program ”.

Now, days before this Resolution expires, the ANSeS is betting that Congress will soon pass the bill sent to Congress last week. This initiative establishes that “the ANSES-FGS does not make capitalization of interest on existing loans whose collections have been suspended as of January 1, 2020. The resumption of the collection of installments will be done respecting the original conditions in which the loan it was granted ”.

If Congress delays or does not pass the bill, the payment of the fees will continue to be suspended to avoid a shock such as that of the credit cards that the Central Bank promised to investigate.
