Oil prices fell today after Hurricane Laura swept through the heart of the US oil industry in Louisiana and Texas without causing widespread damage to the sector.

Reuters reported that Brent crude for October delivery fell four cents to determine the settlement price at $ 45.05 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude fell seven cents to $ 42.97 a barrel.

In total, the two crude posted weekly gains of about 1.5 percent, and West Texas rose for the fourth consecutive week.
