The price of the mask continues to drop.
While it was barely 10 cents per unit before the crisis, the health mask had indeed peaked during confinement before being capped at 95 cents by the government in May.
Sold at cost price in most supermarkets, its price has continued to decrease since.
For example, it will reach twenty cents at Leclerc in the coming weeks.

We had trouble buying masks (during confinement) and when we had them, we had them very expensive,
" explained Michel-Edouard Leclerc, the CEO of the group, at the microphone of FranceInfo.
At the time, the cost of air freight was very high, 1.1 million euros per plane against 300,000 in normal times.
So we bought them at 50 or 60 cents each, and we couldn't sell them at a loss.
Those we buy now will allow us to offer boxes of fifty to 9 or 10 euros (against 12.90 currently, editor's note).

Textile masks do not find takers
Michel-Edouard Leclerc then explained that "
the French do not buy so many textile masks
", and that resellers find themselves with unsold stocks in their hands.
“
People only want disposable,
” he added.
Asked about the bonus of 1000 euros that he had promised to employees of the "first line", the CEO of the group explained that "
most centers (had) paid the bonus
", before explaining that he wanted "
do even more
”and pay for this year“
25% of the profit before tax in the form of bonuses
”to its employees.
Michel-Edouard Leclerc then praised the mechanisms put in place as part of the economic recovery plan, believing that it put France "
on the right track
