Around 60 cameras monitor production. Employees can also be seen - not pixelated. The company considers this to be legitimate, but data protection officials do not.

Anyone looking for a job as a butcher or butcher in southern Germany will sooner or later end up with Müller Fleisch, one of the biggest in the industry.

How it works there can be found on the Group's website, where there is talk of a sensitized guiding culture.

Or you look at the Kununu rating platform.

There employees rate their company.

Their verdict is devastating.

Superiors behavior?

"Complete disaster."

Communication?

"Unavailable."

Working conditions?

"As in the Middle Ages."

Those responsible should treat people differently, wrote one employee at the end of July, after all, they were people, "not animals".

A personnel officer tries to limit the damage on the platform: The suggestions for improvement have been noted and "examined" them.

However, this is a problematic word.

The company has been monitoring its employees, mostly from Eastern Europe, during production for years.

The company confirms what several employees report to SPIEGEL: around 60 cameras are installed in "production-related areas".

Two thirds are in peripheral areas, the main task is to monitor the systems.

The rest would "target" production.
