At the end of June, Markus Braun was arrested for the first time, but was allowed to leave on bail - only to be arrested for the second time a month later, where he has been sitting since then.
Now the long-time former Wirecard boss is apparently fighting against it.
A few days ago, Braun lodged a complaint against his lawyers, reports the "Handelsblatt", citing Justice Insiders.
In the complaint, Braun rejects the urgent suspicion placed by the public prosecutor's office, among other things of "commercial gang fraud".
In addition, from his point of view, the grounds for pre-trial detention are incomprehensible.
The complaint is therefore 70 pages long.
In the letter, Braun's lawyers explain why, in their opinion, their client should not have been arrested and the pre-trial detention must be ended.
Braun's defense attorney Alfred Dierlamm did not want to comment on the complaint when the newspaper asked.
According to the "Handelsblatt", people familiar with the process report that various suspects have above all doubted the statements made by the former Wirecard manager Oliver Bellenhaus.
Bellenhaus was mainly responsible for the business of the payment service provider in Dubai, which at times contributed around a third of the group's turnover.
Bellenhaus is himself accused and is also in custody.
He has turned himself in to the public prosecutor's office and can be questioned.
Bellenhaus' defense attorney did not respond to the request, reports the newspaper.
