2020-09-24T09:02:42.831Z

The state promises that it will support the companies concerned. A telephone meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 11:30 am between Bercy and representatives of the hotel and catering industry, events and sports halls.

The State has toughened its tone in the face of the resurgence of the epidemic, but promises to be there with professionals affected by total or partial closures of their establishment.

This Thursday, September 24 from 11:30 am, the ministers of Bercy - Bruno Le Maire for the Economy and Alain Griset, in charge of SMEs and VSEs - meet with representatives of the hotel and catering industry, events and sports halls.

From Saturday, bars and restaurants in areas on “maximum alert” (in the metropolis of Aix-Marseille, and in Guadeloupe) are forced to close completely.

In eleven other metropolises, including Paris, bars will have to close from 10 p.m.

In these “heightened alert” areas, sports halls, gymnasiums and party rooms are also affected by these closures.

In the restaurant industry, professionals are not fading.

"

It is an unfair decision on the part of the government which only seeks to try to hide its inability to manage the crisis,

" Franck Trouet, spokesperson for the GNI employers' union, which represents the independents told AFP. in the hotel and catering industry.

"

Our establishments have spent millions of euros to respect the protocols, and they want us to close?

"

CPME demands cancellation of charges

For the president of the Confederation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (CPME), François Asselin, these new restrictions are a "

blow

" for traders in the hotel and restaurant sector and their suppliers, already severely weakened by the closures in the spring during confinement.

Alerting to the already very difficult situation of these small businesses, he asked the government “to

cancel charges.

The small players in the sector will not be able to get out of it otherwise,

”he explained in the morning of Europe 1.

Faced with the resurgence of the epidemic and new health restrictions, he implores the executive to facilitate access to level two of the solidarity fund dedicated to the self-employed and very small businesses, and accessible until the end of the year. .

As a reminder, level one of the solidarity fund has already concerned 1.7 million entrepreneurs, who have received a maximum of 1,500 euros.

“At

the moment, the administrative burden is too heavy for the self-employed to have access to it.

We ask the ministry to simplify procedures,

”said François Asselin.

According to the Ministry of the Economy, this level of aid has already benefited 32,000 companies.

The employers' representative also mentioned the difficulties for restaurants and bars to pay donors, due to their decline or the cessation of their activity.

In recent days, the Minister for SMEs Alain Griset had notably asked the prefects to think about the organization of

"mediations between lessors and lessors".

For the hotel and catering sector, cafes and bars, CPME expects a loss experience of around 20% by the end of the year.

"

If the economy comes out of this period in tatters, no one will be able to recover,

" lamented François Asselin, who anticipates that many companies will be unable to repay the loans guaranteed by the State (PGE) which have been granted to them. .

Guest of the Sud Radio morning, the secretary general of the CGT, Philippe Martinez, for his part deplored the lack of organization of the government.

The sector has not been consulted, and local representatives also appear to have been left out of the discussions.

We should have warned before acting.

"

The state promises to be there

For its part, the State ensures that it will be present for professionals affected by these new restrictions.

"

The State is and will remain alongside the companies concerned by the measures related to the health crisis

," the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire promised Wednesday evening in a tweet, after the announcements of his colleague from Health.

The decision is difficult (...).

But the State will not abandon those who are living these difficult times today

, ”added Olivia Grégoire Thursday morning, on the set of BFM Business.

"

We are going to preserve the mechanisms, we are going to maintain them, whether it is the loan guaranteed by the State or the solidarity fund

"

,

affirmed the Secretary of State to the Minister of the Economy, Finance and Recovery , responsible for the social, solidarity and responsible economy.

The Minister for Industry, Agnès Pannier Runacher, questioned on Public Senate this morning, also repeated that aid would be renewed for the sectors affected by these closures.

Each time, we were there.

We will be there of course

. ”
