Employment: RATP is recruiting 1,500 permanent positions

2020-09-28T08:05:51.174Z

The health crisis did not get the better of the hiring objectives of the Parisian authority, one of the largest employers in the Ile-d region

They were in small numbers, but during the confinement the subways continued to circulate.

And the hires have not stopped at RATP.

“The Covid-19 crisis has had no impact on our hiring objectives, we assure the Régie.

And we were fully mobilized to adapt quickly and continue recruiting ”.

Thus, between March and May, while the whole of France was confined, more than 600 interviews were carried out by RATP thanks to the various videoconference platforms.

Then, when the deconfinement was announced, the recruitment sessions were adapted.

Psychomotor tests, which can only be carried out in person, resumed very quickly, with the implementation of barrier gestures.

And the number of candidates summoned at the same time has been reduced in order to ensure health safety instructions.

As a result, this summer, more than 1,400 agents have already joined the company out of the 2,900 permanent contracts that RATP planned to hire in 2020.

From driver to engineer

At the start of autumn, the company is still one of the region's largest employers, with 1,500 positions still to be filled.

The profiles sought are as diverse as ever, ranging from client advisers to works of art inspector, including machinist and accountant.

Most of the positions to be filled remain in the trades of operations operators, in other words those who run the metro, bus and tram: machinists (bus drivers), station agents, metro drivers and security officers.

But the executives are not left out.

The management is always looking for engineers (IT and cybersecurity project manager, etc.), technical executives, operational managers and supervisors, digital and innovation professions (mobile application project manager, etc.) ) up to 300 positions.

As for the difficulties in recruiting in certain sectors, they remain the same as in February.

It is in fact in the technical trades of repair and maintenance of trains and subways (electricians, electromechanics, etc.) that the RATP has the most difficulty in attracting.

Ditto for women, whom she would like to attract more to her various positions.

"We are once again going to organize forums in RATP maintenance workshops," Stéphanie Dorain, RATP recruiting manager, confided in February.

It is this type of action that works best, it allows us to show jobs that benefit from being known ”.

But at the time of the return of the Covid, which is forcing the cancellation of more and more demonstrations, the RATP must still find new ways to attract candidates.

For the time being, over 170 job offers are available online, on the RATP career site, in the fields of driving, service, safety, maintenance, engineering and even 'innovation.
