Today gold rose more than 1 percent to consolidate above the $ 1900 barrier.
Reuters reported that gold increased in spot transactions 1.2 percent to 1907.46 dollars an ounce, after hitting its highest level since September 22 at 1911.66 dollars.
And US gold futures contracts were settled, up 1.1 percent, at 1916.30 dollars an ounce.
As for other precious metals, silver increased 3 percent to 23.92 dollars an ounce, platinum rose 1.1 percent to 897 71 dollars an ounce, while palladium gained 1 percent to reach 2317.62 dollars an ounce.
