After the passage of the capital and its inner suburbs in the maximum alert zone, the government confirmed the closure of sports halls for two weeks.

The sports halls did not take off.

On Monday, the government once again showered their hopes, confirming their closure in Paris for two weeks.

In response, the L'Usine sports clubs (three clubs in the capital) filed the same day an interim relief at the Paris administrative court, denouncing an

"attack on the freedom of trade and industry"

, to

" entrepreneurial freedom ”

and

“ the right to health in connection with the exercise of a sporting activity ”

.

"It is incomprehensible and unacceptable"

, denounces Patrick Joly and Patrick Rizzo, founders of L'Usine, in a press release.

A first decision had forced sports halls located in enhanced alert zones to close since September 25.

But several administrative courts like that of Rennes had suspended the prefectural decrees.

In Paris, the court had finally asked the prefecture to review its copy but on Sunday, the capital and its inner suburbs went into maximum alert zone, leading, the next day, to a new closure order.

“The Administrative Court of Paris agreed with us and there we do not take it into account.

Once again, this goes against all well-founded reasons

,

the two founders of the Factory were indignant.

According to them,

"the current situation cannot justify the establishment of a new decree"

.

The most important time of the year

The Factory is worried about the consequences of such a decision specifying having "

already lost more than 30% of [its] turnover during the first confinement

".

The rooms of 7000 private sports establishments (including 4500 fitness rooms, but also yoga studios, climbing rooms ...) in France fear, in fact, to miss the most important period of the year: traditionally 30% of new subscriptions are signed in September and October.
