The Dutch discount chain Action has found fertile ground in France, which it knows how to grow.
With 540 stores, France is the leading market for this chain, which generated sales of 5.1 billion euros last year in the seven countries where it is established (+ 21% over one year).
Destocker for a small part of its offer, offering products covering a wide range of daily needs (cleaning and hygiene products, animal food, decoration or even groceries), Action walks on the flower beds of many other brands , from competing discounters to hypermarkets, including small decoration specialists.
This year, the pandemic has certainly thwarted his plans, and 2020 will be a small vintage for Action, with forty openings out of 84 planned.
But this delay will be made up, and openings will resume at the rate of one hundred per year, assures Wouter De Backer, general manager of Action in France.
