The long-distance bus company Blablabus will suspend its journeys in Germany until spring.
From October 26th, there will be no more buses under the brand in this country, said managing director Christian Rahn on Monday.
All passengers who have already booked journeys after October 26th will receive an automatic cancellation and the booking price will be refunded.
"The global pandemic has postponed our blablabus expansion plans for a few months for now."
In the long term, however, the aim is still to expand the long-distance bus service in Germany.
The Blablabus brand belongs to the French company Comuto, which is best known in Germany for the Blablacar ride-sharing app.
Due to the restrictions during the corona crisis, Blablabus had to discontinue the offer for around three months, but resumed operations in June.
Top dog Flixbus "observes the situation"
However, the car sharing agency Blablacar will be asked much more often, it was now said.
"Therefore it makes sense to adjust to the current exceptional situation and to concentrate more on the preferred offer."
The ride-sharing service will continue to be available.
Customers can use the Blablacar app to join forces to create a lift.
In June of last year, the company entered the long-distance bus market in Germany, which is still dominated by Flixbus.
The market leader had also discontinued the offer during the forced break in spring.
"We are observing the situation with the utmost care, are in close contact with the authorities and are implementing the measures that have been agreed," said a spokesman on Monday upon request.
Most recently, the "Hamburger Abendblatt" reported that the company was facing a thinning of the route network.
