The Economic Cabinet agreed on Thursday a new stage of the program for
Assistance to Work and Production
, in which the State takes over part of the salary of workers in companies affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The new stage of the ATP was approved by the Government after a meeting of the Economic Cabinet headed by Minister Martín Guzmán, in the Palace of Finance in which "the economic dynamics in the context of the pandemic, the economic measures underway and the fiscal situation, "they reported.
The continuity of this aid will be
for critical sectors
through salary payments, exemption from employer contributions and credits at subsidized rates.
“ATP has been and is a fundamental tool to reduce the impact on productive activity, sustain work and accompany companies in this harsh context.
We are defining a new round
to continue protecting the know-how of the economy
and to have solid foundations that promote a better recovery horizon, ”said the Minister of Economy.
According to the official report, the fiscal situation and public policies "to stimulate productive activity" were other of the meeting's axes.
In that sense, Guzmán assured that "there is a fine corridor on which the fiscal path has to be traveled and
the 2021 Budget is the first step
for recovery because it is the roadmap that sets the course for the economy."
And he added: "The strong reduction of the fiscal deficit and the redefinition of spending items respond to the search for a consistent fiscal program."
The meeting, which was held in the Scalabrini Ortiz room, was attended by Deputy Chief of Staff, Cecilia Todesca Bocco;
the Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Claudio Moroni;
the president of the BCRA, Miguel Pesce;
