Manufacturer calls cheese back because of possible metal parts

A Stuttgart manufacturer is calling back Zopfkäse. It cannot be ruled out that there are small metal particles in the product, it said. The costs will be reimbursed in the shop.


A cheese manufacturer has recalled several varieties on suspicion of processed metal parts.

Affected are the vacuumed 200 packs of "GAZi Yumak Örgü Peyniri - Finely Sliced ​​Zopfkäse" and the 250 gram pack of "GAZi Örgü Peyniri - Zopfkäse - approx. 250g vacuumed", as the Stuttgart manufacturer, Garmo AG, announced.

It cannot be ruled out that there are small metal parts in the cheese, it said.

Packages with the best before dates 01.01.2021, 08.01.2021, 15.01.2021, 22.01.2021, 29.01.2021, 23.02.2021, 26.02.2021, 02.03.2021, 09.03.2021, 16.03.2021 and 23.03.2021 are affected.

The packs were sold throughout Germany.

Although the risk is very low, the product has already been taken out of sale as a precaution, it said.

The purchase price for cheese that has already been bought will be reimbursed when it is returned in the shop.
