In the midst of the soaring of the blue dollar and the loss of international reserves, the Government decided to reopen one of the "taps" for foreign exchange that had been closed since March.
The Minister of Tourism and Sports, Matías Lammens, confirmed this Saturday that the borders will be opened for the entry of tourists from neighboring countries.
"We are thinking that foreign tourists from neighboring countries, from
Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, Bolivia and Chile
can re-enter
. We have worked all week with the Ministry of Health to establish the conditions for this to happen."
The opening of the borders for the reception of tourists would take place this Sunday with the Decree of Necessity and Urgency of Alberto Fernández and next week the administrative decision that would detail the countries would be published.
But entry
would only be by air (Ezeiza) and
through the Port of Buenos Aires for the entry of the
ferries from Uruguay.
That is,
the microphones would not be included
.
"Eventually a border crossing could be added that we consider to be in a good health situation," he said.
"It is an important income and a new stage in this pandemic, which allows us to turn the page, without abandoning the fight against the virus, with great care and precautions," said the official, in statements to the program "Very early Saturday", by
Radio Miter.

Lammens said that they are working on the protocols with the City of Buenos Aires.
"With Uruguay there would be no problem because the protocols are in place: there
will be a PCR on board
for the Uruguayan tourists who come," the official said.
"And we are defining that tourists (from other countries) will have to have PCR at origin and some more test that we require when they arrive in the country.
There will be no quarantine,
so we ask them for this test to have a degree of security that they do not come infected and they are going to take the fever and a sworn statement will be made, "he explained.
For tourists who come to the City of Buenos Aires, a test will also be done upon arrival.
"Tourism is going to be one of the great reactivators of our economy;
we cannot deny that we need foreign exchange income
and for that, tourism will help a lot," Lammens also admitted this Saturday on CNN Radio.
