Toyota, the largest Japanese automaker, announced today that it has expanded the recall of its vehicles due to a fuel pump malfunction that could lead to its failure worldwide to a total of 5.84 million vehicles.
Reuters quoted the company as saying in a statement that it decided to withdraw another 1.52 million cars in America as part of its recall appeal in January, which covers many models that were manufactured between July and September 2017.
Toyota explained that vehicles that have a fuel pump are subject to stoppage and may lead to the car's breakdown and may not be restarted, noting that distributors will replace the fuel pump with an improved version.
