The German stock market ended a disastrous week on Friday with a moderate minus.
After a decrease of 0.36 percent compared to the previous day, the Dax is now at 11,556.48 points.
The weekly loss turned out to be significantly greater: it amounted to 8.6 percent.
This is the biggest weekly minus since the peak of the first corona wave in mid-March.
For the entire month of October the loss is as much as 9.4 percent.
The record values for new corona infections and the decided partial lockdown are responsible for the development.
Investors' hopes are now directed towards possible monetary policy aid from the European Central Bank.
And after all: The growth of the German and American economies was surprisingly strong in the summer.
MDax loses too
The MDax of the 60 medium-sized stock market stocks lost 0.31 percent on Friday to 25,721.00 points.
The US index Dow Jones Industrial also lost (minus 1.2 percent).
The Cac 40 in Paris rose (0.5 percent), while the British FTSE 100 stagnated.
