They now represent a world market of 260 billion dollars and are carving out an increasingly important part of the energy mix.
For years, they have been fed on public subsidies.
This is less and less the case.
The latest calls for tenders completed by the French government this fall illustrate that renewables are increasingly competitive compared to other energy sources.
