As with the Pfizer vaccine and Russia's Sputnik V, the announcement that the Moderna vaccine was 95% effective boosted the world's stock markets, including Argentine stocks and bonds.
Positive news about vaccines gives investors greater certainty about the end of the pandemic in the near future.
While the Dow Jones, the United States index, rises 1%, the Merval advances 2.4%, with increases of up to 6% and Argentine securities on Wall Street have increases of up to 7%, as is the case of Despegar.
Behind the company - one of those that eagerly awaits the end of the coronavirus - are Corporación América, Tenaris and IRSA, with increases of the order of 5%.
The bonds also improve their performance and cause the country risk to fall 0.2%, to 1,330 basis points.
At the international level, WTI oil rose 3% to US $ 41.34 a barrel, while gold fell slightly.
In Europe, all the stock exchanges are trading on the rise, with increases from 0.80% for Frankfurt to 2.7% for the Spanish Ibex.
How much is the blue dollar
The blue dollar, meanwhile, rises 1 peso,
to $ 173
, after hitting the low of $ 149 last Tuesday.
Since that day, the bearish streak that had started three weeks ago and that had brought it to $ 195 on October 23, was cut.
Alternative or stock dollars continue their upward path, which the Government tries to divert by selling bonds.
Cash with liquid, which allows to obtain dollars abroad, rises 1%, to $ 148.02, while the MEP dollar does so by 1.3%, to $ 143.12.
The gap between the blue and the wholesale dollar, which rises 19 cents, to $ 79.95, is 115% (it had touched 150% in October), while against the cash with liquid it falls to 85%.
