"The people who matter at the office" # 35: The latecomer!

2020-11-21T09:41:44.041Z

LE BUREAULOGUE - Every Friday, Le Figaro invites you to meet a “cliché” character who poisons or enlivens the corporate world.

This is probably one of the most annoying faults that exist, in the company as elsewhere: the chronic lack of punctuality!

In the office, this translates, at best, into a slight delay of five to fifteen minutes to a meeting or appointment.

At worst, by total forgetting - voluntary or not - to go there ... Teleworking and distance have not changed anything: it is quite possible to be late from home.

The excuse is also found: a call that went on forever or a capricious box.

Technology is always on the safe side!

In psychology, our personal relationship with punctuality is indicative of our personality!

Systematically arriving early is the behavior of an anxious person who, precisely, is terrified of being late.

Someone who is regulated like a clock and who is impeccably punctual is a maniac or an obsessive!

And our latecomer?

His lack of schedule reliability can be compared to a detachment, a letting go ... In short: the latecomer is neither stressed, nor corroded by professional anxieties.

Chronic delay divides doctors and experts.

Some believe that this is a real pathology.

Others relativize, evoking a simple bad habit ... Bad habit, really?

By choosing to make his slight delay his hallmark, one ostentatiously appears as a very busy but not stressed individual: someone important.

Annoying, the latecomer can also have a cool or even punk side.

Above all, by arriving late, you are sure not to go unnoticed ...
