Employment: sectors recruiting in Ile-de-France despite the crisis

2020-11-21T11:41:19.868Z

Even if unemployment has jumped since the beginning of the year, many fields are still looking for candidates: health, IT, construction ...

Yes, we are still recruiting in Ile-de-France despite the economic crisis resulting from the health crisis.

This is what emerges from a study by Hellowork that we reveal.

"After a drop of around 50% in recruitments which was very clear after the first confinement, the situation is no longer the same today, the market has not collapsed" analyzes David Beaurepaire, deputy director of Hellowork , which currently offers more than 120,000 job offers in France and 38,000 for the capital region.

A brightening in a very dark employment landscape in the region since the 1 st confinement.

Ile-de-France had 750,000 unemployed (category A, who have no job) in September, or 100,000 more than in December 2019. Unheard of in statistics.

Significant needs in the health sector

First sector to be recruited, and this is not a surprise: health and in particular the professions of nurses and nursing assistants.

Between them, x they accumulate 834 job offers available on the ParisJob and RégionJob sites.

For example, at the Assistance Publique-Hôpital de Paris (AP-HP), before the Covid, out of 18,500 budgeted nursing positions, 950 were vacant.

In September, it was 450. The nurses obtained during the Segur an increase in their salary of 180 euros net per month and the nursing assistants rose one step.

In large sectors of activity, IT is also doing well. The great wave of videoconferences and other teleworking tools is no stranger to this demand for skills.

David Beaurepaire also notes that "the construction market (public works building) is very demanding: + 11% with net job creation".

A difficulty in recruiting in Ile-de-France which can also be explained because the employees of the Ile-de-France have desires elsewhere, and more and more.

The cost of living, especially for housing, has a lot to do with it.

But the first confinement and his garden cravings amplified the trend.

"42% of the platform's users in Ile-de-France also search outside the capital region"

“Out of a million people in Ile-de-France, HelloWork analyzed the use of its RegionsJob and ParisJob employment platforms in September 2020. Thanks to the study of the research carried out by its users, we have drawn up an inventory of desire for professional mobility.

And Ile-de-France has a different behavior: 42% of Ile-de-France users of the platform are also looking outside the capital region.

For example, they are only 28% on average in the other regions.

24% of searches are only done in the Ile-de-France region.

It was 33% at the same period in 2019, which shows a real desire for elsewhere ”.

In which regions are these employees looking to move or looking for a job looking?

“The metropolis of Lyon comes in first position, specifies David Beaurepaire, with 12% of searches.

In second position, we find the Hauts-de-France region, mainly the agglomeration of Lille.

An attraction which can be explained this time by the proximity and the ease of reaching Paris by train.

The Pays de Loire are in 3rd position.

On the other hand, Occitania is on the decline in research.

The crisis in the aeronautics sector with the containment and stoppage of flights is certainly the cause of this decline ”.
