An eventful year for the historic operator of New Caledonian nickel, Société Le Nickel (SLN), 56% owned by Eramet.
Eight months after arriving in New Caledonia, General Manager Colin McGibbon decided to return to France.
His predecessor, Bernard Laflamme, only stayed for two years.
Colin McGibbon is replaced by Guillaume Verschaeve, until now industrial director of Eramet's mines and metals.
“Under the leadership of Guillaume Verschaeve, SLN will continue the momentum started two years ago to transform the company and return it to profitability,”
said Christel Bories, CEO of Eramet.

The island's largest employer is in serious financial difficulty because of recurring cost problems and the fall in nickel prices.
SLN requested in September the appointment of an ad hoc representative to negotiate amicably with its creditors.
