After
"Extraordinary Contribution to Large Fortunes"
obtained half a sanction in the
Lower House
, the Government acknowledged that more taxpayers than the estimated 9,300 will pay the wealth tax.
"For this tax it is going to have to
make a sworn statement
and present what the patrimony is," said the head of the
federal Administration of Public Revenue
(AFIP), Mercedes Marcó del Pont.
In dialogue with
Radio Con Vos
, the official said that there will be differences with the mid-year presentation of Personal Assets "due to the valuation of those assets."
And he acknowledged that
"the exchange rate adjustment is going to affect and probably broaden the universe reached."
From these final numbers - reported the Telam agency - it could emerge that the number of taxpayers who
would pay the contribution could be higher than initially estimated.
Regarding criticism of the project, Marcó del Pont said that
"no one is going to have to sell their machines.
The contribution does not affect production. It falls on the wealth of the individuals that is financed."
"Nor will it be necessary for them to sell the fields. We observe that those human persons who declare rural properties and must pay the contribution, their fields represent an average of 2.7% of their patrimony.
The data shows that these individuals have liquid availabilities that are 25 times higher than the tax they have to pay, "he added.
The official pointed out that "the reduction of the more progressive taxes that the previous government implemented did not result in more investment and employment.
But in more financial fraud."
In a hot session and with the seal of Máximo Kirchner -ideological author of the project and promoter of its treatment-, the ruling party gave him a half sanction yesterday, Wednesday at dawn, for the Extraordinary Contribution to the Great Fortunes and
now it has passed to the Senate.
It is a new tax that reaches people with assets greater than
$ 200 million,
and that received strong criticism from business sectors and the countryside, to which AEA has now joined.
According to Clarín, the president of the Senate Budget and Finance committee, the Cordovan Peronist Carlos Caserio, has already summoned the members of that committee to discuss the wealth tax bill next Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
He did it through a single-page memo.
The official plan is to raise about $ 300,000 million.
The collection of this contribution will be allocated 20% to the purchase and / or production
of equipment and critical supplies for the health emergency
, 20% to SMEs, 15% to programs for the development of popular neighborhoods, 20% to scholarships to the comprehensive Progresar scholarship program and 25% to natural gas exploration and development programs, through Enarsa, as established by the project.
