The prefect of the Rhône announced the introduction from Tuesday 5 hours of differentiated traffic in Lyon and its surroundings due to an alert to fine particle pollution in the Lyon-north Isère basin.
In order to reduce pollutant emissions, only vehicles equipped with a Crit'Air class 0, 1, 2 and 3 sticker will be authorized to travel within the city of Lyon and those bordering Villeurbanne and Caluire- and-Cook, indicates Monday the prefecture in a press release.
The northern ring road, the M6 and M7 metropolitan routes (new names for the A6-A7 motorway in the Lyon crossing) or the tunnel under Fourvière are excluded from this measure.
Maximum speeds are also reduced by 20 km / h on all main roads in the department where the normal authorized speed is equal to or greater than 90 km / h. The tracks where the speed is limited to 80 km / h change to 70 km / h. Exemptions from the traffic restriction are planned for priority vehicles (police, gendarmerie, firefighters, etc.), or even the Samu, ambulances and vehicles of the medical, paramedical and veterinary professions.
