Around Great Britain on foot: 11,000 kilometers, 147,000 meters in altitude and a lot of wild coast

Summer or winter, Brexit or Covid-19 - the photographer Quintin Lake walked around the British island for 454 days for his project "The Perimeter". A hike to places that are easily overlooked.

Quintin Lake

, 45, landscape and architecture photographer, started his project »The Perimeter« in April 2015.

From St. Paul's Cathedral in London, he walked clockwise around the British Isles, in intervals of two to nine weeks.

On September 15, 2020, the 11,000 kilometer hike along the coastline ended back in the British capital.

On average, he ran 24 kilometers a day in all seasons, wearing seven pairs of shoes, taking more than 179,000 photos and climbing almost 147,000 meters in altitude.
