If you like salad, be careful!
The Directorate General for Competition, Consumption and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) announces this Friday the recall of several batches of sachets of arugula, mesclun and young shoots and arugula of 125 grams and 145 grams for risk of salmonella contamination.
“Foodborne illness caused by salmonella results in gastrointestinal disturbances, diarrhea, vomiting and abdominal pain, often accompanied by fever;
these symptoms may be more severe in young children, immunocompromised individuals and the elderly.
The incubation period can range from 6 to 72 hours, ”the government body specified in its press release.
Four brands concerned
The brands concerned by this urgent recall are Bonduelle, Auchan Saint Eloi and Système U. As regards Bonduelle, the batches of mesclun recalled are 27631363 and 27631345 sold at Intermarché, Système U, Leclerc, Carrefour and the Grande Épicerie de Paris.
As for young shoots and rockets, the affected lots are 27631359 and 27631336 sold at Auchan, Système U, Leclerc and Carrefour.
Also concerned are packets of rocket and mesclun Auchan (lots 27631324, 27631325 and 27631328) as well as lots 27631323, 27636358 and 27631353 of arugula and mesclun Système U. And finally, lot 27631329 of mesclun Saint Eloi sold at Intermarché
