The government is preparing to put its hand in its pocket to support public enterprises battered by the crisis.


Public companies and those in which the State is a shareholder are not immune to the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus.

Especially the big names in the transport and logistics sector.

The government is preparing to put its hand in its pocket to support La Poste.

The company should benefit from aid of

"a few hundred million euros"

, according to a government source, which was to be arbitrated on Saturday morning.

Despite the surge in its parcel activity since the first confinement, La Poste sees its difficulties worsened by the crisis.

Indeed, the fall in couriers leads to deeper losses (-1.4 billion this year) than the gain on the parcel side (+300 million).

The public company also anticipates a loss of 800 million euros in the coming years.
