It was with them that the French became familiar with online shopping for clothes, almost twenty years ago for Veepee (the former private sale), and fifteen years ago for its rival Showroomprivé.
Since then, Amazon and Zalando have exploded, Vinted has broken through in the second hand, while clothing sales have continued to decline in France.
The two specialists in event sales of old collections did better than resist.
According to the Kantar barometer, Veepee was, in the first half of the year, the second site for online fashion purchases in France, behind Zalando and ahead of Amazon and Showroomprivé (fifth).
The two companies are profitable (Showroomprivé raised the bar after difficult years) and saw their sales soar (+ 30% in the third quarter for Showroomprivé).
Decoration, travel, beauty, the two specialists have been able to expand their range and surf the trends.
This Wednesday, Veepee is launching into the second hand, with the Aigle brand.
