Global cosmetics giant L'Oréal announced on Wednesday it had signed an agreement to acquire Takami, a Japanese cosmetics company specializing in skin care.
The acquisition should take place in the coming weeks according to the press release from the French group, which does not specify an amount.

Founded in 1999, the Takami brand markets under license the skin care products of Doctor Hiroshi Takami, founder of the two eponymous dermatological and aesthetic clinics in Tokyo.
The company, which is mainly present in Japan and certain Asian countries, achieved sales of around 50 million euros in 2019.

L'Oréal owns 36 brands internationally, has 88,000 employees worldwide and in 2019 achieved sales of 29.87 billion euros.
