During the year 2020, companies and institutions of the Ministry of Industry registered the opening of dozens of production lines, machines and equipment, rehabilitating a number of them and placing them in the production process in order to develop production in terms of quantity and quality and to supplement the local market and meet its needs and the needs of public authorities.

In a memorandum assigned to SANA, the Ministry of Industry stated that the Arab medical company “Tamico” witnessed during the year 2020 the preparation and opening of the liquid syrup line, adding three new machines and their introduction into the production process for packaging, tablets and salts, in addition to direct installation of the medical ointments production line.

She indicated that Waseem Readymade Garments Company has opened two production units belonging to the employment of the sons and families of the martyrs and the war wounded in each of the Tal Salhab and Deir Shamil Company in Hama, bringing the total number of production units that were opened to 8 units outside its headquarters.

In the General Company for Shoe Manufacturing, two presses, nails and heels, and six various sewing machines were supplied and put into the production process, in addition to the contract to supply two direct injection machines, while the General Company for Detergents "SAR" witnessed the installation of a new line for the production of medical soap.

The General Company for Cable Industry in Damascus registered the installation, rehabilitation and modernization of a number of machines and put them in the production process, including a multi-line drawing machine with 16 lines that was rehabilitated with the expertise of the company's technicians and with the help of the supplier company via electronic communication, which saved an amount of 12 thousand euros in addition to the installation of an isolation machine while it is in operation and modernization Shiller is a machine that draws aluminum and turns it into a tube heat exchanger and design a heat exchanger that works by water and air to cool the water for insulation machines, and is currently in its final stages of manufacturing, by means of the company's workshops, thus saving the purchase of a cooling chiller at a cost of more than 200 thousand dollars and the General Tobacco Corporation during the year The current installation of a line for the production of short-varieties cigarettes in Tartous with a production capacity of 400 tons per year in addition to the contract to install a line for the production of cigarettes of long varieties in the province of Lattakia to increase the production capacity of the institution and secure the market need up to 14 billion pounds, while the installation was made to buy an injection machine for Aleppo Plastic Company.

According to the Ministry of Industry, the production of liquid batteries with different sizes 55-245 amperes and good specifications and prices was started in the Aleppo Batteries Company, while the Syrian Arab Company for Electronic Industries "Syronex" completed the design processes to manufacture an electrical regulator with a capacity of 10 kilowatts and with high specifications, while the staff of the Adra Cement Company By replacing the "first and second" furnaces sections, which reflected positively on significantly reducing production costs. Regarding the work of the General Organization for Cotton Ginning and Marketing, the Corporation began receiving cotton for the current season 2020-2021, and the quantity received until the beginning of this month reached 13,349 tons of production in the governorates of Aleppo, Deir Ezzor and Raqqa. And Hama, and the Foundation is currently processing the received quantities, in addition to completing the rehabilitation of the Tishreen and East ginners in Aleppo, according to the funds allocated to them in the investment plan for the year 2020, after the contracts concluded with the Military Housing Corporation in Aleppo were approved and an order to proceed was given.

The ministry stated that the Homs Sugar Company contracted by mutual agreement to supply a quantity of 6000 tons of milas, which is required for the yeast plant, and it received 2000 tons of it and is awaiting the supply of the remaining quantity in addition to the ratification of a contract to implement the project of supplying the cream cooling group for the company with a value of 137 million pounds.

And regarding the work of the General Organization for Food Industries during the year 2020, a minutes of agreement was signed between it and the Syrian Trade Corporation to import the products of its companies and display them in the sales outlets of the Syrian Trade in all governorates, in addition to the opening of a number of halls to sell all food industry products in Damascus and a number of governorates.

The year recorded the approval of the Economic Committee to assign the Ministries of Agriculture and Industry to form a joint committee from the Board of Directors of the Food Corporation and the General Organization for Mabaqer to lay the foundations for allocating the Damascus and Chickpea dairy companies with raw milk produced by the Mabaqer Corporation and calculating the selling price for the two companies on the basis of the current prices, provided that these are reconsidered. Prices are per month, in addition to giving an order to start rehabilitating the milk collection center in the Quneitra governorate, and contracting to rehabilitate the sterile milk line in the Damascus Dairy Company.

The Ministry of Industry indicated that a number of machines were contracted to rehabilitate the beer plant in the Al Sharq Company in Aleppo, to purchase various engines for the presses and refining department in the Aleppo Oils Company, and to contract to transfer the shavers from its Ain al-Talal plant to the Hama Oil Company.

During the year 2020, the Ministry of Industry amended the economic feasibility study to establish a dairy production plant in Quneitra to become 30 tons of milk per day and the announcement of the project in addition to preparing an economic feasibility study for the rehabilitation of the Yarmouk Pasta Company, and work is being done on its rehabilitation.

According to the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Administration and Productivity Development Center of the Ministry obtained the ISO 9001 2015 certificate as the first governmental administrative body to obtain the international certificate.
