The New York Stock Exchange opened sharply higher Monday, for its last week of the year, after President Donald Trump finally signed the plan to help the American economy: the Dow Jones gained 0.58%, the Nasdaq advanced 0.85%.
At the previous close on Christmas Eve, the flagship index, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, rose 0.23% to 30,199.87 points.
The Nasdaq, with strong technological coloring, had then gained 0.26% to 12,804.73 points and the extended S&P 500 index had appreciated by 0.35% to 3,703.06 points.
