Mercedes Marcó del Pont, head of AFIP, revealed on Monday the data expected by the nearly 2.5 million monotributistas: how the categories will be updated this year and what each of them will have to pay from January.

The scales were updated following retirement mobility.

But since this year the adjustments were made by decree and they were not the same for everyone, there were doubts as to how these changes were going to affect the Monotax adjustment.

The increases in pensions had been between 25.3 and 35.3%.

And the AFIP opted for this last percentage to set the Monotax increases, according to a bill sent by the Executive Power to Congress on December 31.

In the proposed legislation, put together by the collecting body and which is now in the Legislative Branch, in addition to the 35.3% update, advantages are established for those who have exceeded the monotax ceilings and must become registered managers.

Until January 20, the monotax re-categorization is carried out.

AFIP expects its bill to be passed before that date.

In the event that this does not happen, the collecting body will take measures to make the corresponding adjustments.

The AFIP has not yet given the exact scales on how the updates will be.

But, taking the announced increase of 35.3%,

in the lowest category, A

, the amount of the monotax could rise from the current $ 168.97 to $ 228.60;

the contribution for the pension system (SIPA) would go from $ 745.49 to $ 1,008.65;

and the contribution to social work, from $ 1,041.22 to $ 1,408.77.

With these numbers,

the total to be paid by the monotributistas would increase from $ 1,955.68 to $ 2,646.04

.

Meanwhile, the top of the category would go from $ 208,739.25 to $ 282,424.20.

At the other end, category H, which is the highest for services, would go from a ceiling of $ 1,739,493.79 to $ 2,353,535.10, while the total payable by the taxpayer would increase from $ 9,451, 93 to $ 12,788.46 in services and from $ 7,886.41 to $ 10,670.31 in personal property.

Meanwhile, the top of category K, which is the highest for the sale of movable property, will rise from $ 2,609,240.69 to $ 3,530,302.65, and the total monthly fee that today is $ 14,716.41 it will go to $ 19,911.30

The AFIP suspended executions for category changes during the pandemic.

And that policy is likely to continue for two more months, until February 28, according to official sources.

The monotax has a tax component and a contribution component to social work.

In the AFIP they are studying this composition, because they see "regressive" components in the current numbers.

Marcó del Pont wants to make some changes, but that will be after the bill sent to Congress is approved.
