There are changes in the team that accompanies Martín Guzmán in the Ministry of Economy.

Diego Bastourre, who had been working as finance secretary, will occupy a position as

director at the Central Bank.

Bastourre's appointment seems to accentuate the impression that exists in the financial market: that the Central Bank was definitely subordinate to the directives of the economic portfolio.

Bastourre, Guzmán's main deputy in the debt renegotiation, will be a director at the Central Bank.

The other change is in the Ministry's Economic Policy secretariat.

Fernando Morra will

replace Haroldo Montagu, who was in charge of that portfolio since the beginning of Alberto Fernández's administration.

Bastourre's position will be for

Mariano Sardi.

Bastourre "commanded the process of normalization of the public debt market in pesos and accompanied the minister during the negotiations with the creditors for the restructuring of the foreign public debt," according to a statement from the Ministry of Economy.

"The designated officials were already part of the current economic team of Minister Guzmán and have extensive experience and academic and professional trajectory," said that portfolio.

he Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán, appointed economist Fernando Morra as the new secretary for Economic Policy, replacing Haroldo Montagu, who had been in charge of that portfolio since the beginning of the administration of President Alberto Fernández.

Morra was undersecretary of Macroeconomic Programming and alternate representative of the Ministry of Economy in the BCRA, "while between 2006 and 2019 he held different technical positions in the Ministry of Economy of the Nation, in the Banco Provincia and in the government of the province of Buenos Aires ".

He is a professor at the Moneda, Credit and Banks chair at the University of La Plata, where he completed his postgraduate thesis “Moderating moderate inflation”.

Sardi was Undersecretary for Financial Services in the Ministry of Finance.

He was head of Macroeconomic Analysis at the Central Bank and held different positions in that entity between 2007 and 2019.
