Joe Biden had already presented at the beginning of December part of his economic team, composed mainly of women, people from minorities and former members of the Barack Obama era.

He notably appointed the emblematic Janet Yellen, former president of the Central Bank (Fed), as future Minister of Finance.

The Covid-19 pandemic caused the worst crisis since 1929 in the spring, and millions of Americans lost their jobs or saw their number of hours reduced.

If her appointment is confirmed, Gina Raimondo will be head of government-business relations.
