Auchan has announced to its employees a vast internal reorganization to come, aiming to "
move towards a more decentralized organization
" by making each national entity "
an autonomous company
", and of the group a "
federation of companies

The announced objective is to "
enable each country to develop, independently, a strong commercial project, differentiating, adapted to the local expectations of customers and embodied by the teams
", according to this announcement to employees signed by Barthélémy Guislain, president Auchan Holding and representative of family shareholders, and consulted by several media, including AFP.
The group of the Mulliez galaxy (Decathlon, Leroy Merlin, etc.) thus intends to promote “
the autonomy and empowerment of all employees
” by moving towards a “
federation of companies in autonomous countries
”.
Transition phase
Each national entity will be "
led by a general manager
" and organized "
around a chairman / vice-chairman pair, surrounded by a Board which supports the general manager
".
This new organization, which requires "
a transition phase
", must be set up "
in the coming months
", according to this letter, which is accompanied by the announcement of the appointment of a tandem at the head of Auchan France and Luxembourg, Francis Cordelette as president, Alexandre Mulliez, elder grandson of Gérard Mulliez, as vice-president.
