The popular content platform Tiktok announced today (Wednesday 13.1) that it will change the account settings of community members aged 13-15 and they will now be set to private by default.

This means that in these accounts (defined as "private"), only members approved by the account holder will be able to watch the videos he or she creates.

Tiktok notes that the change stems from the overall approach Tiktok takes that aims to ensure that younger community members can actively decide whether they want to open their account to the public and make informed choices about the content they choose to share, and with whom they choose to share it.

The new changes for community members aged 13-15 - as mentioned, from now on their accounts will be set as private by default.
