Iran's South Pars field in the Gulf has recorded a record gas production of 676 million cubic meters.
"The registration of this number comes within the plans of the Ministry of Oil to produce this level in the winter season," Ali Reza Abbadi, director of production and operations at the state-owned Pars Oil and Gas Company, said in a statement to Fars News Agency, noting that methane gas constitutes about 592 million out of the record production volume, It is pumped by public grid lines.
Abadi indicated that gas production in the South Pars field grew by 60 million cubic meters per day over production in the previous year.
