Haub brothers Karl-Erivan, Georg, Christian (2009): Power struggle in the clan

The head of the Tengelmann group of companies, Georg Haub, has apparently withdrawn his application to have his brother Karl-Erivan declared dead.
The »WAZ« reports, citing the Cologne District Court.
The process should initially be continued anyway, it said.
Karl-Erivan Haub set out on a ski tour alone in early April 2018 and never returned.
A large-scale search was also unsuccessful.
The family assumes that he had a fatal accident on the Klein Matterhorn near Zermatt in Switzerland.
Haub's younger brother Christian then took over management of the group.
The process had triggered a struggle for power and billions within the family clan, which owns the Obi hardware store chain and the textile discounter KiK, among others.
Christian Haub said he had offered the wife of his missing brother € 1.1 billion for the missing person's company shares.
Haub's brother Georg had initiated proceedings for a declaration of death at the Cologne District Court last October.
The corresponding applications by "Christian Haub and the Tengelmann Group" are being upheld, reports the "WAZ", citing a spokesman for the Cologne District Court.
