The federal government is planning a new comprehensive rescue package for the economy to mitigate the consequences of the corona.
According to SPIEGEL information, Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier (CDU) wants to simplify and increase the aid.
"Handelsblatt" and "Süddeutsche Zeitung" now report how bridging aid III could be changed.
According to "Handelsblatt", Federal Finance Minister Olaf Scholz has suggested that retailers write off seasonal goods that are not for sale as fixed costs.
In general, according to the plans of the SPD politician, goods up to 50 percent can be offset as fixed costs, the report says.
The payments on account for November and December aid are to double from 50,000 to 100,000 euros.
More money for the solo self-employed
According to Scholz, companies with a turnover decrease of 30 percent in the respective funding month should also benefit from bridging aid III - previously the limit for this was 40 percent.
The maximum amounts for Bridging Aid III should increase to 1.5 million euros.
Details could be decided upon by the Chancellery and the 16 Prime Ministers regarding the Corona restrictions.
Then the EU Commission must also approve the plans.
According to the »Süddeutsche Zeitung«, Scholz wants to work with Minister of Economics Altmaier to improve the start-up aid for self-employed people.
According to the report, the two ministers want to be able to claim 50 percent of the losses instead of 25.
The funding is to be increased from January to June from 5,000 to a total of 7,500 euros.
According to the »Süddeutscher Zeitung«, »non-permanent employees«, ie seasonal workers, should also be able to submit applications.
Both newspapers also report that Scholz wants to expand some regulations.
Companies in financial distress are actually only exempt from filing for bankruptcy until January 31 - the deadline should be extended by at least one month.
In addition, mini-jobs do not have to be counted towards the short-time work allowance until the end of March - this could also be extended, as could the simplified access to basic security.
