A large file error.
La Banque Postale announced on Tuesday that it had been "victim" a year ago of the destruction of more than 30,000 loan files "linked to a failure of its archiving service provider", confirming information from Le Canard Enchaîné.
"This failure of a recognized expert in archiving in the banking and insurance sector will have no impact on the protection of the rights of La Banque Postale customers", assured the company to the AFP.

According to the weekly, the archiving company confused the numbers of obsolete mortgage files, which were "to be taken out", and the numbers of the boxes where they were stored.
A "file reversal"
Instead of taking 2,052 files, 2,052 boxes containing 30,527 files were destroyed by the archiving company as a result of a “file reversal”.
La Banque Postale, which is exposed to possible failures of bad paying customers - the destroyed files concerning guarantees -, did not indicate the amount of its potential damage.
