This Saturday, through Decree 34/2021 published in the Official Gazette, the Government exempted until March 31 from the
payment of employer contributions to Social Security
to service companies, establishments and institutions related to health.
This includes
social works, private medicine companies, health
insurance and mutuals, hospitals, emergency services and transfers, diagnosis and treatment practices;
integrated consultation, diagnosis and treatment services, outpatient care performed by doctors and dentists, Services related to human health and Social services with or without accommodation.
This support is complemented by the Health REPRO II by which - upon compliance with the requirements and conditions of the program -
a monthly sum of up to $ 9,000
is granted
to the workers of the companies adhering to the program.
With these measures, the Government considers that it compensates the Health sector that
has not authorized the increase in February
of the membership fees for prepaid medicine.
The decree specifies that the exemption of employer contributions "will be compensated with resources from the National Treasury in order not to affect the financing of social security or the calculation corresponding to pension mobility."
This clarification is because the mobility formula takes into account the income of the ANSeS to set increases in pensions and other social benefits.
In the foundations of the decree it is stated that since the outbreak of the pandemic the Health sector had a 95% reduction in employer contributions, that "face a differential effort" and that "it is imperative to support health service providers with the in order to offset the extraordinary costs related to the management and containment of the pandemic that will extend throughout the current year ”.
