Trade unions, including the CGT Energie and SUD Energie federations, and parties including the PS, the PCF and LFI, announced on Tuesday the creation of the "

national collective for a real public energy service

Designed by the CEO of energy company Jean-Bernard Lévy, the Hercule project could result in a split of the group into three entities: a public company (EDF bleu) for nuclear power plants, another (EDF vert) listed on the stock exchange for the distribution of electricity and renewable energies, and a third (EDF azur) which would cover the hydroelectric dams.

Among the other signatories are the associations Attac, Droit au logement, the collective Les economistes atterrés and several sections CGT and SUD.

"

The public debate that we are asking for is intended to go beyond the sole framework of the EDF group and to integrate all sectors of the energy sector, beyond electricity alone, in order to lay the foundations for a real large public energy service

”, add the founding organizations of the collective.

The Hercules project is hotly contested by EDF agents.

Four days of mobilization have taken place since November at the call of the inter-federal (CGT, CFE-CGC, CFDT, FO), each time followed by nearly one in three employees of the group, according to union figures.
