, declared the minister before the committee of the economic affairs of the Senate.

"I hope that in the days and weeks to come, those involved in this merger between Veolia and Suez will demonstrate the goodwill necessary for this merger to take place in a friendly manner

Veolia warned a week ago that it was going to oppose any sale of assets that it considers strategic by Suez, when the two companies reconnected in the case of the takeover of the second by the first.

For their part, the Suez unions, hostile to the buyout project led by Veolia, announced on Friday that they would meet with the Ardian-GIP consortium to discuss the project of these two investment funds which want to buy back the shares of Veolia in Suez .
