BNP Paribas has been able to stay the course in the storm.
While the Covid-19 pandemic severely slowed down the global economy, the bank managed last year to limit (- 13.5%) the decline in its net income, releasing 7.07 billion euros in profits .
This is currently in sharp contrast to the first results published by its competitors in the Old Continent, such as Banco Santander, which suffered a loss of 8.77 billion euros, or Deutsche Bank (113 million of profits).

BNP Paribas benefited from its very significant diversification both geographically and in terms of business lines, which is one of its main strengths.
This allowed it to stabilize its income (- 0.7% to 44.28 billion euros).
