A family with three children receives a one-off 450 euros

The child bonus of 150 euros is to be paid out to families in May.
The "Handelsblatt" reported on Tuesday, citing a corresponding draft law by the Federal Ministry of Finance.
"For every child who is entitled to child benefit for the month of May 2021, a lump sum of 150 euros will be paid for the month of May 2021," the newspaper quotes from the draft.
The costs for the child bonus amount to around 2.1 billion euros.
The coalition committee decided on Wednesday evening to help cushion the corona crisis.
Families should receive a one-time child bonus of 150 euros per child.
Last year there was 300 euros per child to stimulate consumption during the crisis.
Lower VAT for restaurants costs 5.1 billion euros
The grand coalition had decided on the new child bonus as part of the tax measures to deal with the corona crisis.
This also includes the expansion of the tax loss carry-back and the lowering of the VAT rate for restaurants by the end of 2022, which the Union and the SPD had also agreed on.
According to the draft law, the expansion of the tax loss carry-back relieves companies by 315 million euros.
Significantly more expensive is the lowering of the VAT rate for restaurants from 19 to 7 percent, which costs the state 5.1 billion euros in revenue, reports the Handelsblatt.
CSU boss Markus Söder had urged the discharge.
