Like several other distribution brands, Casino has decided to do something for students in financial difficulty.

Noting "

great financial insecurity

" among students, the supermarket chain Casino has decided to make a gesture for this clientele, according to information from the Parisian.

Until June 30, 2021, students will thus be able to benefit from a 10% reduction on all Casino brand products in the brand's various stores - Géant hypermarkets and supermarkets.

To benefit from it, students will have to download the Casino Max application on their phone and present their student card.

Customers will also be able to purchase vouchers of 2, 5 or 10 euros at the cash desk which will finance packed lunches by being donated to the surrounding food banks.

And this from this Wednesday, February 10.

Many brands to launch

Casino thus joins the list of large retailers who have decided to make a gesture for students in difficulty.

Even if it means making this clientele the object of fierce competition.

At the beginning of February, Picard had led the way by offering its customers to round up their bill to the next higher euro to participate in the financing of the actions of the solidarity grocery Agoraé, intended for students.

Intermarché had followed in the footsteps of the frozen food chain by offering to accumulate 10 euros in vouchers in its stores (from February 2 to 8) ... on condition of presenting a loyalty card.

The objective is therefore as much to give a boost as to retain new customers.

Last week, it was the E. Leclerc stores which promised the student basket "

the cheapest on the market, and of high quality

".

An operation which should be deployed at the end of February.

Local operations were also observed.

In Lyon, a Super U store organized a distribution of packed lunches worth 50 euros each in collaboration with the town hall of the 6th arrondissement.

These private initiatives support the system put in place by the government in these times of crisis, when students are struggling to find a job to make ends meet.

Since January 25, they can benefit from two meals (noon and evening) at 1 euro in university restaurants.

These establishments will also reopen their doors - only take-out was allowed until then - to break the isolation of students.
