CMA CGM is changing course in the airline industry.
At the end of September, the world's fourth largest player in maritime transport announced its desire to acquire 30% of the capital of the aero branch of the Dubreuil group (Air Caraïbes and French Bee).
The owner thus wished to develop in air freight by using the holds of the planes of the two companies.
This very advanced project had been sealed by both parties with a memorandum of understanding.

According to our information, the group led by Rodolphe Saadé has given up on this operation.
"CMA CGM has put an end to discussions with the Dubreuil group to take a 30% stake in its aero division,"
says the Marseille group.
This about-face was recorded at the end of 2020: the two allies of circumstance, who had submitted their file on November 19 to the Competition Authority to obtain its agreement, withdrew it.
However, CMA CGM is not giving up its ambitions in air freight: at the end of 2020, the group created an Air Cargo division.
