The former president of Banco Nación Carlos Melconian spoke harshly of the economic management of the Alberto Fernández government.

"

This is a day-to-day program, about watching, berreta," he

said.

In addition, he called him "hesitant" and that he only "seeks to avoid the political cost" until the elections.

In an interview with A Dos Voces, by TN, the economist assured that "this is not going anywhere" and questioned the intention of "ironing" the economy until the midterm elections.

"There is no economic program that seeks stability," he said.

And he added, if the question is that if it is derived from this economic plan that Argentina becomes a first-level country, I tell you "no."

"

This does not change Argentina," he

said.

And when asked whether the implemented measures will serve to contain inflation, the economist indicated.

“We are discussing whether inflation is going to be 30, 40 or 50 percent.

Nowhere in the world is that controlling prices ”

.

"

The basic conditions are not there

: a model of where you want to go, a foreign policy and, in conjunction with that, a macroeconomic program that seeks stability," he analyzed.

Despite his harsh interpretation, Melconian explained that in any case he does not believe that the economic situation is going to explode.

“But compared to those who believe that this program is something, I believe that it is nothing.

I have defined it as berretalandia ”, he added.

Then he also ironized:

"Beware that berretalandia against the explosion is not bad

.

"

Regarding the Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán, Melconian indicated that he should "stand in front of Alberto Fernández and Cristina Kirchner, and explain to them the importance of the government having a leadership."

In addition, he pointed out that the head of the Palacio de Hacienda should ask the President and the Vice President

which of the two should "hit the ball

."

"You have to have a minister with his own weight who makes decisions," he stressed.

"It took a year or so for the minister to realize that inflation is a macroeconomic problem, how does a guy who studied at an American university, graduated, next to a Nobel laureate, take a year to realize that it is a macroeconomic problem?" Melconian pointed out.
