The British luxury car manufacturer Jaguar plans to cut around 2000 jobs worldwide.

The bottom line is that this number of jobs will drop in the next fiscal year, as the Jaguar Land Rover company announced on Wednesday.

The largest British car manufacturer has around 40,000 employees worldwide.

Jaguar Land Rover is part of the Indian Tata group.

Jaguar Land Rover announced on Monday that it would only manufacture electric vehicles from 2025.

The company announced that the brand should then become climate neutral by 2039.

Jaguar should be "reinvented", for which 2.5 billion pounds (2.9 billion euros) would be invested per year.

Jaguar Land Rover recently had a new boss, the French Thierry Bolloré.

Like all automakers, Jaguar Land Rover has been hard hit by the corona pandemic.

However, the company assured that there would be no plant closings.
